In the wedding industry, we use styled shoots to flex our creativity. It’s an opportunity to showcase our work and to really put out what we want to attract. This specific photo shoot allowed me to express my love of “moody” styling. From the teal runner and mustard napkins, to the orange and red florals, this shoot was a jewel toned dream. Not to mention we had a sweet pup, smoke bombs, yummy food and champagne so... overall it was a success.

The Meadows is a stunning wedding venue in Stirling, Ontario. It’s rustic-chic, if you will, and lends itself to any style a couple could want.

The tablescape, which was provided and styled by Blossom by Shannon, consisted of black chargers, white dinner plates with gold trim and crystal glasses with gold trim to match, black water goblets, a teal runner, mustard napkins, gold cutlery, brass candlestick holders with teal candlesticks, and brass vases. Shannon just casually sewed those napkins the night before. If that doesn’t impress you, I’m shook. I can’t be the only person who doesn’t know how to use a sewing machine. Amber of Exclusive Invites designed a black menu with white script, underneath a sheen that read “bon appetit”. She also made little gold place settings for the bride and groom, gold table numbers and black place cards that were adorable. Rebecca of Flowers by Dustin chose florals to match the scheme, adding reds and oranges for contrast. This tablescape couldn’t have been any more perfect. If only we’d remembered to straighten the cutlery before the photos. FYI, that’s a very common mistake, one I should probably stop making. Hey, I’m human!

The welcome sign. Ahhhhhh the gorgeous glass sign with etched writing and teal paint that hung on the copper arch. You want one? I strongly recommend hitting up Exclusive Invites and requesting one for your wedding.

The arch piece tied in the boho (and so does the dress but we’re not there yet). Pampas grass is such an inexpensive way to make your arch pieces or bouquets look fuller and also fun and funky. Rebecca foraged them herself and added them to her brilliant bouquet and arch piece.

Brooke of Runway Bridal chose two wedding dresses and a teal bridesmaids dress that represented our eclectic theme. The paisley black suits were a unique addition and the number of hats to choose from were the cherry on top. The jean jacket was another Runway Bridal hit. Basically what I’m saying is Brooke is always on point, that’s just a fact.

Thairapy by Jocelyn essentially replicated the exact Pinterest photos we gave her for hair, and somehow made them look better than Pinterest, which frankly isn’t surprising. Her bridal updo’s and general styles are always amazing! Calista, Bohemian Beauty, lives for being given the creative freedom to showcase her artistry and it was beautiful. She and I share the love of alllll the moody things.

And lastly, Samuel Meggs Photography just heightened every lovely aspect of this day. His moody (I’m so sorry, I just can’t find another word!) photography is perfect for exactly this kind of jewel toned set up. I’m always impressed by him in photoshoots, not only does he capture the beauty perfectly, but he really inserts himself in each scenario and directs everyone in order to get original shots. Two of my favorite shots from this day are the upangle during the “ceremony” where you can see the bride and groom placing the rings on each other fingers, and the black and white smoke bomb after dark. We were all really just trying to go home at this point but Calsita was Ninja-ing around with smoke bombs behind the couple while Sam captured every step. Trust me when I say to trust your photographer's direction.

Thanks for reading as I brag on my friends. Enjoy these beauties
